Revit Training and Implementation for FAB Group a Case Study
This post is a Case Study on the Revit Training and Implementation process that has been followed for FAB Group. The training and implementation model followed has been extremely successful.
Introduction
FAB Group, is a Multi-disciplinary luxury Architecture and Interiors firm. Its work ranges from high-end private homes to luxury hotels and resorts. Established in 1976 by Architect Sarbjit Singh, with over four decades of legacy, it has been established as the leading practice for high-end Residential and Hospitality Architecture and Interior Design. Principal Architect Jaskaran Singh wanted his team of more than 100 Architects, Interior Designers and Visualisers. FAB Group had tried implementing Revit earlier but these attempts were not so successful.
The Process
FAB Group has over 100 studio staff comprising Architects, Architects and Visualisers. Bimsrv was approached to propose Revit Training and Implementation for FAB Group. The proposal suggested a unique Revit Training and implementation process. The Training was done in batches with each batch of around 10 persons. A workshop model for the training was adopted. This was done on a weekend including Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 9 AM to 5 PM. This batch of trainees were ready to work on Revit on Monday after the weekend training. The Training Program is unique and customised for Architects, Interior Designers, Visualisers Quantity Surveyors .
Revit Training and Implementation for FAB Group has been an ongoing process and continues till date with new batches.
Implementation Process
The second part of the process has been implementation. The Revit Implementation involves:
- Development and Management of Custom Revit Templates.
- Defined the Work Process for collaborative work between Architects, Interior Designers, Visualisers and Quantity Surveyors.
- Defined Revit Modelling Standards for the Collaborative work between Architects, Interior Designers and Quantity Surveyors
Revit Implementation has been a hand-holding and support process. Weekly visits and support by the Bimsrv Revit Implementation Specialist helped resolve issues and doubts. This hand-holding and Support process helped trainees at FAB Group gain greater confidence and switch over to Revit. They are now delivering projects exclusively on Revit for all stages of Design, from Concept to Working Drawings.

Conclusion
The success of the first batch encouraged FAB Group to implement this for the rest of the studio staff. As done earlier with the first batch, the process was repeated with the subsequent batches.
